I have worked for the largest organizations in the world and I can tell you for a fact, they do not. I can share true stories with you about men peeing into styrofoam cups just not to get off the factory assembly line. Women who hold their urine in and ultimately, get bladder infections (they have difficulty peeing into small coffee cups). They do this to be loyal to the company and procure a decent time rate, when too low, can lead to termination.
Another company, where I was written up, reprimanded and ultimately lost my job for saving the life of a dog locked in a car with all windows rolled up on a hot summer day. I called the police while “on the clock”. The company told me that I upset the customer who received a fine/ticket from the police. The large golden retriever was foaming at the mouth when I saw it laying on it’s side in the backseat of the car. The K-9 police officer who responded to the call, told me that my actions saved the dog’s life.
Yet, another company, where I was written up for laughing. My supervisor called me into her office and said she caught me laughing on camera. She played me the video and I responded, with a smile, “I’m guilty. A co-worker told me something funny and I laughed.” She told me she doesn’t pay me to laugh and I received a written reprimand. She told me two more of these and I will be terminated.
