When researching funny motivational quotes for success at work, I came across the famous quote of "Never Give Up". Alongside the words was a picture of a little brown mouse in front of a mousetrap filled with cheese.
The "funny" part about the picture was that the mouse has a little red crash helmet on his small brown head. This mouse is intently focused on the piece of cheese and is ready to go into battle in order to achieve his goal.
My hope is that no harm ever came to this cute little animal while someone was making this picture. I also hope he wore out the spring on the mousetrap and was able to secure the food, or better yet, the person making the picture just gave him the little piece of cheese along with the rest of the block (of cheese).
I personally think that mousetraps like this should only be used on the "people" who hurt little (and big) animals! Just my opinion.
Another funny quote comes from Josh Billings: "Be Like A Postage Stamp. Stick To A Thing Till You Get There".
We have to make a list of our goals and tackle them one by one. We have to focus on one thing until it gets completed, then move on to the next. We have to be able to cross it off of our list.
Do you have a list of goals? You need one (actually many) in order to become successful. You also need to be like the little mouse and never give up just because the going gets tough. Put on your own red crash helmet and follow through on your dreams and passions. Only then, will prosperity and success await you.
Henry Ford said this one: " Whether You Think You Can, Or You Think You Can't, You're Right".
Our mental attitude will lead us exactly where we think we will go. You become what you think about. Your thoughts become things!
I once had a teacher in school that for each time a student said "I can't", the student would have a grade point taken away from his average in the class. This was profound. A student only said the word once or twice before "having" to learn the lesson. What an exceptional teacher. He was extraordinary. He even went further and removed the word from the classroom dictionary. Imagine our lives if someone told us that we can do anything we set our mind to.
Groucho Marx said one of my favorites: "I find television very educational. Every time someone turns it on, I go in the other room and read a book".
This wonderfully funny man said this many years ago when television was to me, decently entertaining. Now there seems to be so much sex and violence that is unnecessarily portrayed on television. We had "scary" shows back a few years, yet there was not the graphic, explicit violence and torture scenes now shown to our children.
While there are many more funny motivational quotes out there, I invite you to find other favorites and copy them down to look at each day or better yet print out your favorite with a picture attached...the little brown mouse is available!
We all need something to get us through the hum drum existence that most of us still endure. And yet, the question still remains, "Why are we still suffering in a place of employment (or a place in life) that we are not happy with?" Why haven't we said, "Enough is enough" and made some changes to our lives? Why? The answer is because some of us are afraid. We are afraid to make changes in fear that things might not work out. We are afraid to take that giant step forward that might lead us on the path of greatness. I am here to tell you that success and a great life are on the other side of fear!
While you are reading this article on funny motivational quotes, I would like to invite you to read another article of mine on this website entitled: Motivational Picture. The article describes a time when I said "Enough is enough" and took back my life. I had spent years in this particular retail establishment when the "unthinkable" occurred and I could not tolerate any further mental abuse and oppression. It was a time in my life when I had to deal with great persecution and maltreatment. The actions imposed on me were cruel and unjust. The abuse of power added more salt to my wounds as well as to the poor animal I was trying to save. Please read this one and let me know what you think.
I would like to end this article with a not so funny motivational quote by Steve Jobs (1955-2011): "If today were the last day of your life, would you want to do what you are about to do today?"
Furthermore, how do we know we will be here tomorrow? We need to hope for the best, that we will live till 90 or even 100, yet we need to plan for the worse...maybe today is my last day. Now, what are you going to do today?
